The Terminus challenge: Saeryn

Tonight I'm going up against Saeryn. I've been looking for a way to survive her feat round, but man that's hard. Saeryn and eStryker might be the worst match-ups my list has, though I've messed around with the design since I thought about putting in Rorsh & Brine. I'm pretty sure I'll be winning a special "Retard list!" price at ETC if this works, and I end up bringing it.

Lich Lord Terminus
- Cankerworm
Bane Thralls (Leader and 5 Grunts)
- Bane Thrall Officer & Standard
Bile Thralls (Leader and 5 Grunts)
The Withershadow Combine
Bane Lord Tartarus
Darragh Wrathe
Machine Wraith
Machine Wraith
Madelyn Corbeau
Ogrun Bokur
Rorsh
- Brine
- Gun Boar
Saxon Orrik

The problem I had was an inactive battlegroup that did little more than defend, but that should be solved by this new "Battlegroup", by which I mean Rorsh and friends. Rorsh, Brine, Gun Boar, and Bokur is worth 17 points, but it would be more accurate to include the Cankerworm in that cost, since he'll be their backup.

This is not mine, I just think it's an amazing conversion!

Instead of a couple of heavies, I'll have a small Hordes list leading the advance, and with an extra transfer target and a Bokur, I probably won't lose Rorsh before I get to act. The Cankerworm will finish targets that the main group leaves just barely alive, or take over for Brine on defense if I choose to launch him (maybe go hunting for some nice weapons as well).

This should also give men an answer to stealth solos, or anything that likes to hide out behind the lines, and while sacrificing a five point light warbeast might seem an expensive way to kill a single solo, there are times when such a sacrifice can turn a game (hoping to nuke a Forsaken or two with him tonight). The list I'll be up against is something like this:

Saeryn
- Carnivean
- Typhon
- Scythean
- Shredder
Blackfrostshard
2x Shepherds
2x Forsaken.

+10 points he's undecided on.

  1. you said saeryn and estryker are the worst match ups, just wondering were irusk would fall into that.

  2. pIrusk would fall into the "problematic" category, except if made specifically to take down Terminus. If tailored against Terminus he becomes "very problematic".
